Like most little girls, Amber grew up with a love of horses. She could always be found reading horse books, drawing pictures of horses in her schoolbooks, and begging her older cousins to drive her to the barn on weekends. Her uncle owned a working horse farm outside of Towanda, PA, where she spent countless hours in the saddle during summers and school breaks. In 2012, Amber suffered from a horse related accident, which sent her on a quest for a better way to train horses. She came across Clinton Anderson and Downunder Horsemanship. She started watching and learning as much material as she could and applied it to her horses. When she started getting immediate results, other boarders started asking for her help with their horses. In 2014, she moved to the Endless Mountains area of Pennsylvania and began working with as many horses as she could get her hands on. Amber worked with Downunder Horsemanship Clinicians in 2020 and decided to enroll in the Clinton Anderson Academy for the class of 2021. She says, "I wanted formal one on one instruction with several horses to further my horsemanship skills. The instruction I received at the Academy was second to none. They have real experience with thousands of horses and have answers to any problem that may arise with your horse." Amber faced the challenges of the intense program head on and graduated in June of 2021 with high marks on both the theory test and practical exam. She offers Private Lessons, Public and Private Clinics, Horse Training, and more at her farm in Monroeton, PA.
In addition to her equine experience, Amber worked as a Veterinary Technician for eight years in both small and large animal practices. This experience has given her a wealth of knowledge to aid in general horse care, first aid, and emergency situations. Amber and her husband Kurtis homeschool their daughter Riley, which allows for flexible schedules and many hours in the saddle.
